History and outlook

Proxitronic Funk GmbH & Co. KG was founded in 1978 as a Management Buy-out from Bosch TV manufacturing plant. At that time it was located in Darmstadt and the main product was the PROXIFIER^®, a proximity focused diode-type image intensifier.

In 1984 Proxitronic moved to Bensheim. Our products have continuously undergone improvement. Now Proxitronic is the only German manufacturer of high-performance image intensifiers and related products. Our products and developments are highly appreciated by customers throughout the world in the academic, industrial and defense sectors.

Proxitronic offers standard and customised photon and particle detection as well as imaging systems. Development and production are handled in-house thus ensuring highest quality standards and flexibility.

For the future our strategy is to increase the systems activities providing our customers dedicated application-specific solutions. We thrive to contiuously optimise our service and establish long-term relation to our valued customers.

The Proxitronic Group legally consists of two companies: a holding named Proxitronic Industries AG handling the administration and the Proxitronic Detector Systems GmbH where the actual production takes place.
